As you can guess, Hurler is getting himself a nice collection now.

As you can see he’s got his work cut out. Still if he does this bus to the same standard as his Beetle, you’ll be seeing this in the show and shine.

    Nice Bus mate.

  • Matt’s 1963 Beetle

Posted on July 13th, 2007 DubTypes Members' Rides

    Matt’s Original 1963 vw beetle, 1200cc, L360 Seablue.

    Matt writes;

My dad saw the advert of the car advertised in the Shropshire star (Friday
    August 11th).
Then secretly went to view the bug with my family at Halls auction house
Then went on to the sale on the 27th and was lucky enough to buy it.
Therefore it was a very big surprise when they brought it home and then dad
Dropped the keys into my hand and said “It’s yours”.

As you can imagine, Matt is over the moon!

The Beetle is in original condition (with faded paint :) ) and it’s a one owner from new.

Have a look at the pictures.

  • Jinx’s slammed 67 split.

Posted on May 17th, 2007 DubTypes Members' Rides

Bought by jinx and kel in 2002 to accommodate the expected family!
In pretty much the guise it is now - well externally any how!

Since the pictures were taken a few things have changed!

Internally it has a homemade camping interior based on a ‘Bay’ Devon Moonraker with a 2 ring hob, grill and oven. It also has a propex gas heating system, for those cold camping nights!

    It has up front:-

Dropped king and link pin spindles,
    Creative Engineering adjusters,
    Porsche vented disk brakes,
    Porsche 356c 4 1/2″ x 15 wheels shod in 165/50/15 tires

At the back it has received;-

A ’straight axle’ conversion (1500 bug box),
Porsche disks again and ‘944 steel wheels 185/65/15 all pushed by a standard configuration type 4 1800 built by Andy Clarke from the FLF4′S VW club in Telford.

It’s been lowered, as nesisated by the removal of the reduction boxes during the gearbox conversion and currently stands at a towering 63″ to the gutter!!!

Rev counter and temperature gauge have been added to keep an eye on things that go squish and bang!
An alloy side step and a Creative Engineering roof rack have been added for practicality

It’s currently enjoyed by all the family for holidays and weekend breaks as well as a few VW shows

Future plans include some new duct tape for the door bottoms!

One of the lowest/coolest/rattiest Split buses you’ll ever see, simply……..awesome

  • Pugwash’s 55 plate Bay camper.

Posted on May 17th, 2007 DubTypes Members' Rides

Made by VW Brazil, imported by Beetles UK as a people carrier with a three person bench seat across the back, first registered Dec 2005.

The Work was done by Beetles UK, converted to RH drive (though Pugwash did have to weld the gear stick back together after their welding failed), fitted independent Webasto petrol heater (they don’t need heaters in Brazil) also fitted heated front and rear windows and re-sprayed lower half of body. All underbody undersealed.

Engine is a 1600cc air-cooled flat four, fuel injected and fitted with catalytic converter, average fuel consumption 29/30 m.p.g. Front disc, rear drum brakes.

Pugwash started on the fit out last year and now have enough done for the odd night away, the grand plan is to complete it this year, time and money permitting.

    One cool ride.
