Stoke and Staffs post christmas BBQ/picnic
The Stoke and Staffs VW club are holding their post christmas BBQ/picnic on Sunday 27th January and we are welcome to go along. It's a bring and cook your own affair, so if your cooking make sure you bring charcoal etc, there are BBQ facilities there but I cannot vouch for the hygiene so I would recommend take your own or just take a picnic with you.

The cruise will be assembling at 11.00 at The Moat House Inn nr Alcester for a cruise to Stratford on Avon then back to the moat house for entertainment

2007 Christmas party.
Well what a great night that was. We managed to raise £80.00 for the Ben Bosworth Memorial fund (please click the link for more details, The Ben Bosworth memorial fund )
Thanks to everyone that made the night and a special thanks to everyone who donated a prize for the raffle. Also we would like to thank Dean from the Bustypes VW show ( The Bustypes VW show ) Who donated 2 weekend tickets as a prize, we would also like to that the staff at the Red barn for the food and the use of the pub for the night, they made us all feel welcome and made a real big effort to make the night special.
Thanks to all that came and made the night a success.

Ansty Meet Sunday 9th December
This was a good meet last year at the sparrow pub in ansty, the food was excellent and it's a great chance to catch up with the people that you haven't seen now the season is over.
Starts at 12 noon so Gaz will be at the red barn at 10.30 for an 11 am cruise
down there, (only Coventry so not too far)

DUBtypes Christmas party.
Okay peeps, as a lot of you know the Christmas party is on the 15th of December 7:30pm till late (well till we get kicked out!)
We are looking at holding a small raffle to rasie money for the club and for the Ben Bosworth memorial fund. So if any of you peeps have anything you would like to donate then please let us know
Can you please raise your hands so that we know how much food we will need to cater for (We know not every member uses the forum so if you could inform other club members of the party etc)

Midlands Breakfast Club
Hi, and here is a great reason to get your VWs out for a run this autumn. There is going to be a meet every third Sunday of the month for bacon butties and a bevvy at different locations.
The first meet is on the 21st October at Four Ashes, near Wolverhampton, just 30 - 45 minutes from Shrewsbury. We plan to meet at The Red Barn, Longden Road, Shrewsbury on that date at 9am, ready to leave at 9.15am.

Dubtypes sea fishing trip
A few members are thinking of organising a trip on a boat for a spot of sea fishing! Should be a laugh, charter a boat and have the crack, whilst reeling them in! Come along to the next meet on the 17th October, 8pm at the Red Barn, Longden Road, for further details. If there is enough interest we shall organise this one, and Dubtypes can be Dabtypes!

VW Extravaganza show pics
After the poor weather of the past few months a VW show with great weather was always going to be a hit. The show started on the Friday afternoon with VW owners coming from all over the UK. A few of the DUBtypes members arrived Friday afternoon and set up camp (thanks Pugwash and Ivan and Rose) The rest of the club members arrived later on Friday night.
What with the go karting/ hover crafting and the agro Kats the show had plenty going on with out the evening entertainment. Saturday would see more DUBtypes members arrive and the club camping plot would have to be extended again to accommodate the new arrivals. Saturday night saw three live bands and DJ's galore. Most of the members stayed put to look after the children and try some "local" brew!
Sunday was to see the hottest day this year (not so hard to beat) so an even better turn out was always on the cards. After breakfast the Show and Shine was under way with some top VW's on show. The competition was always going to be stiff, but two DUBtypes members came through on top, well done Russ and well done Bob (aka the prof)
To everyone that made the effort for a local show, a big thanks goes out to you all and we hope the see you there next year.

Up coming events.

DUBtypes picnic (1st of July 2007)
Medler has put together a picnic for all club members on the Sunday the 1st of July (see link below for directions!)
The picnic will be kicking off from 12noon so that members with young children can get them fed and watered! There’s even talk of a rounder’s match!!! Don’t forget your pumps.
DUBSTOCK VW show (14th/15th of July 2007)
The DUBSTOCK VW show is just around the corner (14th/15th of July). The show is held in Herefordshire and is a NON profit charity VW show so even more reason to get your motor stocked up and get your Bottom down there and show your support. There will be a large group of VW owners from all over the West Midlands meeting up on the A49 for the trip down to the show. If you are planning on joining in the procession please feel free to contact either Dan or Gaz and they will be more than happy to help you out. Please keep an eye on the website and on the chat section we have on the Volkstorque site (http://www.volkstorque.co.uk/vt/forumdisplay.php?f=81) for more up-to-date information.

VW Extra 3rd/4th and 5th of August 2007
Crispin and the team from Wrigley’s air-cooled have very kindly given Shropshire another VW show. It’s being held at the Rednal airfield on the 3rd/4th and 5th of August 2007. There will be live Chainsaw carvings, Go-karting, paintballing and even an aerial display! We are in talks with the VW Extra team at the moment on getting a discounted rate on the weekend tickets for DUBtypes members who want to attend the show, so we’ll e-mail you when we have the details. Please note, the Shropshire Star will be attending the show to get the DUBtypes take on the weekend!

The Bus Stop Over 2007
WOW! That was a wet one!
The Bus Stop Over was, this year a real nice chilled out show again. We all met up at the service station in Market Drayton and started to head to Stoke where we would meet up with Will from the SAS VW club, then we trundled towards the A50 where we met up with Dancingbay from the SAS VW club also. When we arrived at the show ground (after 100 stop so Dan could, well stop for fuel/ a toilet break and anything else he could think of!) We all set up and opened a beer or two and started to chill out and forget about the worries of home. Later on that day we had a free light and sound show,
The weather was amazing, the storm even had an "eye" to it, so we got double the pleasure!

DUBtypes Aberystwyth Campout 12th of May 2007

The DUBtypes crew is heading to Aberystwyth this weekend (May the 12th) for 2 days and 1 nights worth of fun!!
If you feel up for a spot of camping then please feel free to join us. A load of Dubtypers will be meeting in Shrewsbury at the Red Barn and will be leaving at around 9:10am to meet up with the other Dubtypers in Welshpool.
The cost of each unit (camper/tent etc) is £13.00 per night (unit + 2 people) and the extras are as follows, £3 per extra person (Inc Children 5+) £3 per awning and £3 per hook up.

We do not normally offer Club Camping Plots, but what we do say is if you have members turn up earlier than others then they can spread out a bit, saving space for any late comers. If Club Camping Plots become available at a later date, then I will let you know
If you wish to have a Club Display on the Saturday & Sunday (or both) in the Main Arena then just complete the attached Club Display Booking Form to reserve your space.
We have an Advanced Ticket rate of £12.00 for an Adult Weekend Ticket, but if you book 10 or more Adult Tickets then I will reduce it down to £11.00 each. (Gate price for the weekend is £15!)
I have also attached an Advanced Ticket Booking Form.
